Email notification and mailing lists
It is very common to have a need for sending notifications from a workflow. These notifications may be sent to one person,
or to a set of email addresses stored in a database.
Simple emails

The email step makes the workflow send an email to the specified recipient. The configuration
panel behave like a normal email client. You can specify a sender, recipient, subject and content. You
may, in addition, add attachments, CC and BCC.

Mailing lists
 |
|
Mailing lists are used for emails that need to go to more than one recipient, sourced by a database.
One email is sent out per recipient so that each message is a one to one communication (as opposed to
one to many, where each recipient can see the others).

The configuration of a mailing list is done in three phases. First, the detail of the message must be
configured.

The second phase consists of picking the source database containing the email address of the recipients as
well as identifying the field name that contains the email address in the selected database table.

Lastly, it is possible to send the email message to only a subset of the records in the database by specifying
an optional filter.
